Tamarindo was awesome. When we got there we checked into our hotel room and then went out to eat. After dindin, I went for a quick dip in one of the hotel’s pools. It was a 5 star hotel by the way. There were always people sweeping, mopping, cleaning, organizing, etc. It never ended. They were always keeping the hotel in tiptop shape. The water was cold so I didn’t stay in it long. After I got out and changed, a small group of us went to look for something to do. We ended up at a reggae bar where I had a shot of patron, a very very expensive shot of patron. Thanks for that by the way, Laura. I owe you one. A few of us tried to dance a bit at the bar but we soon realized that you really can’t dance to reggae music. So we just kind of swayed back and forth for a little until we ended up leaving the bar.

When we got back to the hotel we went out to the beach. It was about 11pm then. We sat there for awhile. Around midnight, my buddy Tom and I decided to jump into the ocean. He had a bathing suit on but I had on khakis. Needless to say my pants still are not dry but it was worth it. We sat around after that outside the hotel looking and listening to the ocean until I just about fell asleep. Josh snores, a lot, just fyi.
The next day I laid out a bit on the beach then went for a run along it. Running in the sand is a lot harder than I thought it would be. After 30 minutes I was pretty darn spent. I also played some beach soccer with some other students and some Ticos. It was by far one of the most fun things I did all weekend. One of the goals was a glass bottle and a stick and the other was two beer cans. Classy. I know. About an hour into beach futbol, Caroline came to get me so we could go rent surf boards and surf. Surfing rocked. It was nice to just be in the ocean. I probably successfully rode about 12 to 20 waves. A nice improvement from the last time I went surfing. I need to invest in a shirt the next time I surf because my nips are pretty sore. When I wasn’t trying to catch a wave it was relaxing to just lie on the board and go up and down on the waves while talking to my fellow surfers. Caroline was pretty darn good btw.

It was a fulfilling Saturday at the beach. We ended the night with dinner and then we just sat by the beach and talked until late. Caroline brought a hammock that we tied between two trees and a few of us enjoyed it like a caterpillar enjoys his cocoon. Also that night I climbed a palm tree. It turns out, palm trees don’t produce palms. They actually produce coconuts. Thanks for clearing that up for me Quincy J
We only had until noon on Sunday to enjoy our last day at the beach so Caroline and I decided to go on an adventure and climb a rocky cliff (it wasn’t that tall of a cliff…maybe only 30 feet or so). To make a long story short, a rock gave out and Caroline took a tumble and cut her foot pretty bad. Since the hotel was probably a good mile away, we combined a mixture of walking and me carrying her piggyback style to make it back to the hotel without causing too much pain to her foot. The bus dropped her off at the hospital once we got back in San Jose so the doctor could look at her foot. I feel terrible about the whole incident since it was my idea to climb the cliff. Regardless, minus the pain she probably is in and the scrapes and bruises she got, it was quite an enjoyable morning. Thanks for the adventure.
The drive back was long. Dinner once we got back was great. Juan Carlos (my host daddio) is a hoot. I have some homework to do. I kind of want to shower since I still have a bunch of little shells all over my body (I think Caroline can relate). Sleepytime later tonight and then school in the morning. I didn’t think I would say this, but when we got back to CR it was actually kind of cold compared to the beach on the pacific. I'm getting soft I guess. Oh, and my English writing skills are getting worse. Please forgive me Professor Migan.
I was going to say, there are quite a few typos and that's just not like you! I've had patron and it is ridiculously smooth tequila... don't drink too much little bro!
